Day 5

Hello Everyone,

Hope you all had a fantastic weekend and Mother’s Day!

Please see below for class updates for this week:

Grade 3-8 Wizard of Oz Performance:

Apraxia Awareness Day – May 14th
-Childhood Apraxa of Speech (CAS) is a motor planning disorder.  This means that when the brain is trying to tell the muscles to move, there is a communication breakdown.  The muscles are not sure what to do without the brain’s direction.  It isn’t an issue of muscle weakness or intelligence, it is a neurological difficulty in controlling and coordinating movement.
-Students may bring in $2 to participate in Apraxia Awareness games on May 15th.

Sharing the Planet Animal Summative
-Rubric was sent home on Friday in your child’s agenda.  Please let me know if you have any questions or concerns about the summative.
-Presentations will take place on Monday, May 26
