Friday, Sept. 28- Day 6

Happy Friday!
Our class did such a great job for our first fire drill!  Well done, everyone :)

Letter T Show and Share- Today we had a few friends bring in items to talk about the letter T!
Language- We practiced the actions for our jolly phonics songs.

We watched an episode of Ms. Booksy after packing up before French class.

Uniform Store Closure:


Dear Parents,

The uniform store will be closed from Tuesday 2nd October 2018 - Wednesday 17th Oct 2018. If you need to purchase any uniforms, please make sure all orders are placed at the very latest by Sunday, 30th September 2018 by email: alpa@multiformcanada.com or online at www.multiformcanada.com.

Please keep in mind that after the Thanksgiving weekend the winter uniform will be in effect.  The winter uniform consists of the long sleeve polo shirt and pants.

Terry Fox Run
Today was the Terry Fox run!! Be sure to check out Ms. Yustin's blog for more pictures!










 Language- Today Ms. Fisher worked 1v1 with students to work on our writing skills while students wrote on the whiteboard or read a book quietly.

Morning Circle Time- Days of the week/months of the year/ today's weather/ dress Timmy for the weather
Math- Number beads- each pipe-cleaner had a number taped on it and students had to place the correct number of beads on the pipe-cleaner.

Unit of Inquiry- Healthy Bodies-  Today we listed foods that are a 'smart' food and items that are 'not-so-smart' foods.

Wednesday, Sept. 26th- Day 4

Reminders:
  • Tomorrow is the Terry Fox run! Students are to wear their gym uniform :)  We will be running outside (weather permitting) and inside incase it rains 
  • Friday is Orange Shirt Day.  Students who wear an orange shirt can wear whatever pants they like, it doesn't have to be their uniform pants. 
  • Please continue bringing items for our International Day poster... Examples: pictures of Canada's landscape, animals, Canadian foods, cultures.  We will be putting our poster together next week!

Morning Circle Time
During this time students share what they did after school yesterday. Today, Adam was our helper with the calendar.  We sang the days of the week and months of the year song.  Then we dressed Timmy for today's weather.

Today we practiced drawing numbers 1-4.  Then, we cut and paste the correct number of popcorn with that number to fill the popcorn bag!

Tuesday, Sept. 25th - Day 3

Reminder: Tomorrow is casual day and the bake sale continues!

Healthy Snack
Language: Today we went on a letter T letter hunt.  JKs find all letter T's, both upper case and lower case, and colour them in.  We also practiced holding a pencil properly and wrote an upper and lower case T. 

Recess/ Lunch

Math- Numeracy- Today we continued learning about numbers 6-10 using class materials, especially the bear counters (gummy bears, as the JKs call them! 😄 ).  We also began learning how to write numbers by tracing and continued practicing how to hold our pencil properly.
Brain Break- We watched story time with Ms. Booksy!
UOI- Healthy Bodies- We continued discussing which foods are smart choices and which foods are not so smart choices. Tomorrow we will be using magazines and cutting out pictures of healthy and non healthy foods we find and then sorting them.

Inquiry Centres - Students explored with Blocks, Knex, Lego, and the play food.

Monday, Sept. 24th- Day 2

Notes: Tomorrow there is a bake sale!  Students may bring in $1-$3 to purchase baked goods.  Please place bake sale money in a ziploc bag and in your child's agenda with their name on it.

Gym - We had gym with Ms. B as Ms. Yustin is away with students at a golf tournament.
Healthy Snack
Language- This week we are learning about the letter T!  We learned the actions to the letter T jolly phonics song: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Gg_KvU5oc9Q
We also learned words that begin with the letter T: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WDjlIdI_Wdc
After listening to the song, Ms. Fisher wrote words we heard that begin with the letter T.  Some words we came up with were: turtle, tennis, table, ten, tent, twin.  Then, we made the letter T with model magic.





 For math, we practiced numbers 6-10.  First, we wrote out how many dots are needed to represent each number and then each student got to pick either 6-10 animals in the animal bin and count them out.



 We dressed timmy for the weather!  We talked about how we are now in the season of Fall and it can be chilly.

Friday September 21st- Day 1

Me Bag Presentations!  



Morning Circle- Our special helper today was Armaan!
 Language- Today we continued practicing the actions and sounds for the letter S and A.  To finish off the week, we did a letter A craft and made a apple craft with tissue paper!


 Math- We went on a number hunt in the school!  We found numbers on the classrooms, doors, and on other student's backpacks.
