Thursday, Nov. 15th - Day 1

Hello everyone,

Reminders:
- Scholastic order forms are due tomorrow
- Science fair is tomorrow beginning at 2:30pm!  We hope to see you there :)
- Please bring appropriate attire for recess as it is getting colder.
- LUNCH ORDERS for December are available today and the system will close on Friday, Nov. 30th at 3pm sharp.  The special for this month is spaghetti and meatballs.  Please keep in mind any vacation days you may be taking in December and to not order food for those days.

Good Afternoon Everyone!

• A kind reminder about Science Fair. Science Fair is tomorrow!  Parents are welcome to attend at 2:30pm

• Hot lunch orders for December are now available. The website will close on Friday, November 30th at 3:00pm sharp! This months special is spaghetti and meatballs. Please make sure if you are planning a vacation to not order on the days your child will be away from school.

• Scholastic orders are due tomorrow.

• School photos have been sent home. If you would like to order photos they must be filled out and handed in by Thursday, November 22nd.

• Oakwood Academy is holding a Poinsettia fundraiser for the holiday season, to raise money for some new sensory items. The Poinsettias are red, pink or white and make a wonderful holiday gift, and are a nice way to spread holiday cheer. Order forms were sent home today. The class that sells the most Poinsettias will win a $50 gift card!! Order between November 1^st and November 30^th. The only form of payment will be cash. Thank you in advance!

• Unfortunately Book fair has been postponed until the first week on February. I will update my blog closer to the date.

• March Break Camp registration forms were sent home. If you are interested please fill in the form and bring it back to school as soon as possible.

Math- We have been learning about graphing this week.  Today the JKs created their own graph.  We were working on remembering to start at the bottom when we are graphing.

Wednesday, November 14th - Day 6

Hello Everyone,

Our science fair is coming up this Friday!  Parents are welcome to attend from 2:30-3:15pm.  If you would like to pick up your child after the science fair ends at 3:15, please let me know the day of :)

 Math- We made a bar graph with the question: how many siblings do you have?  We used mathematical language more, same, less.

Monday, Nov. 12th - Day 4

Hello Everyone,

Tomorrow is Kindness Day!  Students may wear casual clothes for $2. Please place the $2 in your child's agenda.

UOI - Food Groups. Today the students learned about five food groups: fruits, vegetables, dairy, protein, and grains.  We used the toy food we have for inquiry centres.  The only dairy products we found were the ice cream and we pretended the blue bottle was milk.
