Day 1

Hello Everyone,

Notes and Reminders:

Wednesday June 5th – Raptors Day
Students may wear any Toronto Raptor’s attire with the logo.  If your child does not have any items, please wear gym uniform

SJA Track and Field
Congratulations to the Track and Field team on winning 19 medals at last weeks meet!  St. Jude's Academy placed fourth out of 34 schools!  Well done!!

Math - Cut and Paste Addition


 Math Continued - We played Roll and Add with dice!
 Ms. Fisher wrote the numbers on the board, then together we counted the total.
Then, students had a turn writing on the board what number they rolled.  Together we added up the total.

Day 6

Hello Everyone,

Wednesday June 5th – Raptors Day
  • Students may wear any Toronto Raptor’s attire with the logo.  If your child does not have any items, please wear gym uniform
Monday, June 10th – House Colour Day
  • Students may wear house colours as we will be participating in activities to see which house will win this year’s house cup!
Tuesday, June 11th – Water Day for JKs
  • Please apply sunscreen before coming to school, wear bathing suit under casual clothes, preferably 2-piece suit (easier to use the washroom), leave undergarments in backpacks to change into after, and a towel.
Wednesday June 12th – Year End Play Day @ dome 11-2pm

Friday June 14th – JK Promotion Ceremony @ dome 9-11am
  • Students are asked to wear semi-formal clothes
  • For the ceremony, all students will be called on stage to receive their promotion certificate.  Three students will be receiving an academic award for outstanding achievement throughout the year. 
  • There will be no time to take pictures on stage; pictures will be taken as a class group after receiving certificates.
  • After the ceremony, we will return to the school to finish off the day. Parents are welcome to pick up their child after the ceremony, just let me know in advance.

Healthy Snack
Language - Sight word review: Today we reviewed different sight words. We practiced spelling them out and using the stretchy snake strategy to read the words.





Recess/ Lunch
Language Continued - Students finished previous language work.
UOI - Amazing Animals
Today we moved our caterpillars, who are now in their chrysalis, to their new home!
 We attached them at the top of their new home:
 Journal Writing 
Students copied the above sentence on the board in their journals.  We practiced using an uppercase letter at the beginning of writing a sentence and using finger spaces between words.

Math- Addition with stickers
Students placed the number of stickers in each box and wrote the total number of stickers.

SJA SUMMER CAMP

LIBRARY BOOKS
Library books were due today!  If you still have a library book at home, please bring it in Monday.

RAPTORS DAY - June 5th 
Students are welcome to wear Raptors spirit wear to school.  Please note, only clothing items with the Raptors logo are allowed (eg. jerseys, shirts, team pants).

We learned how the word isn't the letter 'u', it refers to the person or people that the speaker is addressing. "you are a girl, you are a boy"

Math - Introduction to Addition - Today the JKs were introduced to addition!  We discussed that an addition/ plus sign means we are adding things together.  Some addition vocabulary we discussed is adding, join, sum, in all, put together,

After putting the rocks in the addition machine, we counted the total amount in the box.
