Christmas Concert practice - We started practicing our Christmas concert song Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer!  We have been using the song below as it is a slower pace to help us memorize the words. Please feel free to use it when practicing at home.  We will be starting to add actions to our song next week.

Science Experiment (2nd Trial) 
We did our experiment for the second time today.  This time we used different colours and filled the cups up with more water.

 Two hours later...

 The finished product! We looked at the colours that were created.

Math- As a class we created a bar graph.  Since today was pizza day, our question for our graph was: What kind of Pizza do you like?  The JKs learned about always remembering to start at the bottom when we are creating graphs.

Tuesday, Nov. 6th - Day 1

Recess/ Lunch
Morning Circle- We sang our days of the week and months of the year songs.  We discussed today's weather and how we should dress for the weather.
Math - Today the JKs learned all about graphing!
First, the JKs learned the steps on how to make a graph. We used with a picto/bar graph.

Step 1: Pose the question for your graph.  In our example, our question was: What weather is your favourite?

 

Step 2 & 3: We collected and made the graph.  Students said what their favourite weather is and placed their name on the graph.  

 Step 4: We read the data and shared our results.


Science Experiment- We completed our first trial of our science experiment for the upcoming science fair.  First, the JKs learned about how we complete a science experiment.

 

The JKs hypothesis was the water was going to move. 

Then, we listed our materials: water, food colouring, clear cups, and paper towel.

Then we did the experiment and watched what happened! 

 

 We checked back two hours later to see if anything changed... See any changes??

Thursday, Nov. 1st - Day 4

Hello everyone!  We had a dentist come and visit the JKs to talk about oral hygiene. 

for our UOI all JK classes watched the magic school bus about how the body digests our food:
